Additional information:
Forcipiger Longirostris is found on coral reefs of the Indo-West and Central Pacific at depts of 3 to 70 m where food and hiding space is plentiful. It has a compressed body with a very long snout and can be mistaken with Forcepsfish F.flavissimus. It can be distinguished by its smaller mouth gape, longer snout and by rows of small black spots on the breast. It has 10 to 11 dorcal fin while the Forcepsfish has 12 to 13.

It should be keep in an aquarium of 70 gallons or more with clean, well-filtered water. Water condition should be as follows: Temperature between 76 and 80° F with a pH of 8.0 to 8.4 and a gravity of 1.022. A low gravity of 1.020 would help allow higher gas diffusion and would reduce the risk of parasite.
