Nutrafin Plant Gro Co2 Activator Review

Submitted by AquariumsLife.com on January 1, 2010 – 5:08 pmNo Comment

Nutrafin Plant Gro Co2DESCRIPTION
This is the replacement packets for the Nutrafin CO-2 Natural Plant Sytem. It contains 3 packs of Activator and 3 packs of Stabilizer. Enough for a 3 months supply.

REVIEW
I am not sure what to say about this product. What they call “Activator” is actually champaigne yeast so yes it works. I am not sure what the stabilizer is but I get the same results using baking soda. My big problem here is the cost: $8 to $10 for 3 refill. Why should I pay more than a penny for a couple tea spoons of yeast and baking soda? I wish I was the one who thought about selling this product. Can you imagine the profit they make selling that? Anyway…

My other problem is the “Enough for a 3 months supply”. I grow plants and I have to make a new mix every week to have enough Co2 (it’s a 25 gallon tank with 4w/gallon). I would say it’s good for 3 weeks, not 3 months.
