Metal Gone ReviewDESCRIPTION
Metal Gone has proven to be an ideal filter additive for breeders of sensitive species. In addition, it is ideal for hatching sensitive reptile and amphibian species such as poison arrow frogs.
Metal Gone will remove up to 5 time the ammonium from fresh water than some adsorbents. It Drastically Reduces Nitrites and Nitrates in fresh water.
Metal Gone is used by many in the aquarium trade to adsorb phosphorous to reduce algae in ponds and aquariums.

REVIEW
I found Metal three years ago and have been using it since then. It’s a non-chemical adsorbant that makes an amazing job in saltwater and freshwater aquarium. This product is still unknown because it has been designed to kill all kinds of algae. I am not fully aware of the US laws but I have been told that it can be tricky to clame such things. This has almost stop the production of Metal Gone and since then, it’s sold as an adsorbant for nitrate, nitrite and heavy metal. Some retailer will tell about it’s algae removal function and some won’t.
I use it to get rid of any algae problem and it work like a charm. Unfortunately, I have to wait a full month before the algae are totally gone. An other inconvenient of Metal Gone Algae Remover is that you have to use it in conjunction with a product call Right Now Bacteria. Without it, it will adsorb nitrates and heavy metal but it won’t remove the algae. On the other hand, all similar product are way more expensive so I keep using Metal Gone and try to forget about the month I have to wait. The bacteria is relatively cheap and I only need one dose.

At work, I use Metal Gone to prevent algae growth. All I need is a small amount of Metal Gone in the filter (no bacteria needed here).
