Aqua Medic Ocean Light T5/Metal Halide Combo Series Review

Submitted by AquariumsLife.com on January 3, 2010 – 8:30 amNo Comment

Aqua Medic Ocean LightDESCRIPTION
Metal Halide lighting systems have long been supplemented by blue fluorescent light sources. T-5 fluorescents are the next generation and have a higher peak operating temperature which makes them an ideal companion within HQI fixtures. Oceanlight HQI+T5 Combo lighting systems elegantly blend the power of halides and the efficiency of high-output T5 fluorescents. Each Oceanbulb HQI is powered by an efficient Oceanballast M magnetic ballast and comes complete with bulbs.

REVIEW
I have been using the Aqua Medic Ocean Light T5/Metal Halide Combo Series for over a year on my 150 gallon anemones tank. I just love it! It’s totally silent, easy to install and it provides great illumination to the reef. The two T5 bulbs makes a great moonlignt.
However, it’s not recommended to use this system in a canopy because of the heat it produces. It will also add lots of heat to the tank.
