Maximum size: Leafs are 2-3 inch long by 0.1 inch board (may be longer in poorly lit tanks )
Light needed: Medium to High
Water contidions: pH 5.5 to 7.5, temp. 18 to 28, soft to hard water
Hardiness: Easy to medium
Propagation: By runners.
Distribution: America
Color: Bright green

Additional Information
There is over 30 species in the genus Echinodorus spread from the south to central ameraica. They all produce leaves in basal rosette and a majority of the species are amphibious (can adapt to both terestrian and aquatic condition). With the exception of E. tenellus and E latifolius, they are mostly used as background plants. E. tenellus and E latifolius makes great foreground plants.
E. tenellus is the smallest species of the genus. There are two forms of E. tenellus: microleaf and broad leaf. This is one of the most popular foreground plant. A true ”lawn” effect is only achieved at high light intensities.
